Rakitno is a village municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina right on the border with Croatia and belongs to the large municipality of Posušje . The nearest major city is Posušje. The villages Poklečani , Vrpolje and Sutina belong to the municipality .
Geographical location
Rakitno, the area of which extends over an area of 32 square kilometers, is located about 15 km north of the town of Posušje at an altitude of 880 to 920 meters above sea level. A few kilometers away is the Blidinje National Park and the Čvrsnica Mountain, the so-called "Roof of Herzegovina ".
Rakitno is almost exclusively inhabited by Croatians .
