Ralf Dringenberg

Ralf Dringenberg (* 1960 ) is a German designer and university professor .

Life

Dringenberg studied from 1984 to 1988 at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design , after completing an apprenticeship as a display designer and having obtained the technical college entrance qualification on a second educational path . He initially worked as a freelance designer, and in 1998 stream design GmbH was founded . There he worked on the development of interactive communication systems based on Internet technologies until 2001. Since 2001, Dringenberg and Andreas Ingerl have been doing their own research and development in the field of dynamic real-time visualization of audio events, which sometimes led to several patent applications .

From 1998 to 2003 Dringenberg was a lecturer in the field of Internet design at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design and from 2002 to 2003 at the Academy for Communication in Stuttgart . In 2003 he received a professorship for the basics of design in media design at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences . In 2007 he followed a call to the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, where he teaches as a professor for the basics of two-dimensional design. Since 2008 he has also been head of the communication design course there. He has been the rector of the university since September 2015.
