Ralf P. Thomas

Ralf Peter Thomas (born March 7, 1961 in Nuremberg ) is a German industrial manager . As CFO, he has been a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG since 2013 .

Life

Thomas graduated from high school with a high school diploma and then completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. He then studied business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nurembergand received her doctorate in 1994 with a thesis on accounting tax law. He then became an employee of Siemens AG in 1995, for which he took on several functions: in 1999 he became head of “Accounting and Treasury” at Siemens South Africa, in 2001 again “Performance Controller” at Siemens Medical Solutions in Erlangen and then Chief Financial Officer of the division Angiography, Fluoroscopic and Radiographic Systems from Siemens Medical Solutions. In 2004 he became head of Corporate Finance Accounting, Controlling, Reporting and Taxes at Siemens, and in 2008 CFO of the Industry Sector at Siemens AG, Erlangen. Finally, since 2013 he has been the “ Chief Financial Officer“Member of the Management Board of Siemens AG. In September 2017, Thomas' contract as CFO at Siemens was extended to September 2023.

Thomas has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Healthineers AG and Siemens Healthcare GmbH since 2018 . There he headed the respective examination committee as chairman until the end of January 2020 (Siemens Healthineers AG) and end of November 2019 (Siemens Healthcare GmbH). Since December 2019 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of both companies. He was also elected to the Board of Siemens Proprietary Limited, South Africa, effective May 1, 2020.

In addition, Thomas is chairman of the stock exchange experts commission at the Federal Ministry of Finance, chairman of the board of directors of the German Accounting Standards Committee eV (DRSC) , member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Max Planck Society and honorary professor for business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
