Reiniger, Gebbert & Schall (converted to a stock corporation with 1.2 million marks in share capital in 1906 ) was created through the establishment of an oHG in 1886 under the name of United Physikalisch-Mechanische Werkstätten Reiniger, Gebbert & Schall, Erlangen - New York - Stuttgart (RGS) Erwin Moritz Reiniger , Max Gebbert and Karl Friedrich Schall . On May 1, 2015, the division was spun off into the legally independent Siemens Healthcare GmbH. Siemens AG remained the sole shareholder.

In May 2016, the establishment of the brand name Siemens Healthineers was announced at an employee event . The new name is made up of syllables of the three English words "health" ( health ), "engineer" ( engineer ) and "pioneer" ( founder ) together, it is to emphasize the pioneering spirit and engineering know-how of the company. The company itself initially continued to operate as Siemens Healthcare GmbH .

With 85% of the share capital, Siemens AG is the controlling majority shareholder. The remaining 15% are in free float . The majority of the shares in Siemens Healthineers are to be held by Siemens over the long term.

A dividend of EUR 0.70 per share was distributed for the past 2018 financial year.

Portfolio

The portfolio contains, among other ultrasound systems , mammography , computed tomography , magnetic resonance imaging , angiography systems , conventional x-ray systems , sports medical diagnostic equipment, molecular medicine systems ( PETCT , SPECTCT , PETMR etc.), products for laboratory diagnosis and radiation therapy systems and particle therapy systems based on Particle accelerators . Siemens Healthineers also offers systems for medical information processing .

Siemens sold the hearing aid business, which had been in operation for decades, to the Swedish investment company EQT and the Strüngmann family in January 2015 . It will be continued by the Sivantos company ; the Siemens brand name will continue to be used under license.
