The central administration of the Siemens-Reiniger-Werke was relocated to Erlangen in 1943, because orderly work was no longer possible there due to the Allied air raids on Berlin . Erlangen enjoyed the status of a hospital town and was spared major damage in the aerial warfare of World War II . In 1947, the SRW headquarters were relocated to Erlangen and the construction of a new factory for X-ray tubes began, as the Thuringian factory ( Siemens-Reiniger-Werke AG Röntgenröhrenwerk Rudolstadt ) was expropriated by the Soviet military administration in Germany (SMAD) and became the VEB Phönix Röntgenröhrenwerk Rudolstadt was.

The domestic sales organization, which had suffered badly from the war, was quickly rebuilt. An extensive sales network was also created abroad, particularly in South America, after the foreign branches were lost due to the war.

On October 1, 1966, the three joint stock companies Siemens & Halske, Siemens-Schuckertwerke and Siemens-Reiniger-Werke were merged into Siemens AG . The medical technology area now traded under the name "Siemens AG, Wernerwerk for medical technology". In the course of a general restructuring, the Wernerwerk was renamed "Siemens Medical Technology Division" (UB Med) in 1969 , " Siemens Medical Solutions " in 2001 and finally in 2008 as " Siemens Sector Healthcare ". In 2015 this became the independent "Siemens Healthcare GmbH".
