history

Bechtle was founded as a GmbH in 1983. The founding shareholders were Klaus von Jan, professor at Heilbronn University, the entrepreneur Gerhard Schick and Ralf Klenk, student at Heilbronn University . In 1995, Bechtle generated sales of more than 100 million marks and started IT trading over the Internet. The mark of two billion euros was exceeded in 2012. On March 30, 2000, Bechtle went public. Initially, the share was listed on the Neuer Markt , followed in 2004 by inclusion in the TecDAX . At the end of May 2017, Bechtle AG was awarded a framework agreement with the NATO Communications and Information Agency to cover the need for NATO IT components amounting to around 45 million euros for five years. In 2018, the French Inmac Wstore was taken over. Since September 24, 2018, the share has been listed in the MDAX in addition to the TecDAX . In mid-October 2018, Bechtle AG won a software tender from the EU Commission for the delivery of software until 2025 with a volume of 52 million per year.

• IT e-commerce

In the retail segment, Bechtle offers more than 70,000 IT products via web shop, catalog and telesales under the brands ARP, Bechtle direct and Comsoft. Customers can also have a tailor-made online procurement system.
