The Rational AG , based in Landsberg am Lech is a German service provider and a manufacturer of commercial and industrial kitchen equipment for the thermal preparation of food.

history

In 1973 the "Rational GmbH" was founded by Siegfried Meister (* 1938, † 2017) as a company for the production and sale of hot air devices in Germany. Three years later the company started manufacturing combi steamers for large kitchens. In 2000 "Rational GmbH" was converted into a stock corporation. The company's product range includes the SelfCookingCenter (since 2004) and the CombiMasterPlus (both combi steamer ) as well as the VarioCookingCenter. The company also offers the option of networking and controlling the devices via the Internet .

The founder Siegfried Meister justified this success with the consistent orientation of the company to the greatest possible customer benefit and a clear specialization in the thermal preparation of meals.

The company has been listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since March 3, 2000 , and on March 4, 2009 it was promoted to the MDAX . As of September 22, 2014, Rational AG was listed in the SDAX . On August 11, 2016, Rational moved back into the MDAX, and on September 18, 2017, the share switched back to the SDAX, but returned to the MDAX on September 23, 2019.
