The Cancom SE is a German company for IT services based in Munich with focus on the area cloud computing . Cancom was the fifth largest IT system house in Germany in 2019.

history

1990s

The Cancom Group was founded in 1992. In January 1993, Cancom received authorization from Apple. Today the group of companies is a partner of Hewlett-Packard , Microsoft , Cisco , IBM , SAP , Symantec , Citrix , VMware , Apple and Adobe in Germany. The first branch was opened in the 1994/1995 financial year. Shortly thereafter, in January 1996, the company entered the catalog business. In 1997 Cancom switched to centralized logistics. In May 1998 the Cancom WebShop was introduced. On September 16, 1999, the company went public.

2000s

Teampoint AG's business operations were taken over in January 2000. In the same year Cancom expanded to England. In April 2001 the group of companies took over VendIT AG. Cancom has been admitted to the Prime Standard since January 2003 . In July 2004, the two largest Cancom subsidiaries Tendi Germany and Cancom media solutions merged to form Cancom Deutschland GmbH . ECS ComputerPartner GmbH Munich was integrated into the group in January 2005. The services were expanded in July 2006 through the integration of Netzwerk Service GmbH. In July 2007 the company took over assets from 4PC in Düsseldorf and ComLogic in Darmstadt. The Austrian a + d was incorporated in October 2007. In July 2008, the Cologne-based SYSDAT company for IT solutions was taken over. In December 2008, Cancom took over 75.5% of the shares in electronics retailer HOH Home of Hardware. These were increased to 100% in August 2009. In December 2009 Cancom took over the Bürotex Group's system houses in Nürtingen and Stuttgart.

In November 2010, Cancom acquired the SAP hosting and IT services division from Plaut Systems & Solutions GmbH in Ismaning near Munich. In July 2011 the HOH Home of Hardware was sold again. The new owner was the etailer getgoods.de, based in Frankfurt / Oder . In the course of HoH's insolvency, it was sold to Conrad Elektronik. In March 2012, the English subsidiary Cancom Ltd. UK sold to London-based Trams Group. With effect from February 28, 2013, the legal form was changed from a stock corporation to a European stock corporation (Societas Europaea, SE). After the takeover of GES Gesellschaft für Elektronische Systeme mbH in March 2013 and the purchase of on line Datensysteme GmbH, a voluntary public takeover offer was made to the shareholders of Pironet NDH , which is also listed on the stock exchange, until December 16, 2013 . At the end of November 2013, Cancom SE had already been allocated 31% of the Pironet shares, according to CEO Klaus Weinmann. In April 2014, CANCOM SE signed the notarized purchase agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the shares in DIDAS Business Services GmbH from Allgeier IT Solutions AG. On September 1, 2017, the former Antauris AG from Hamburg was merged into Cancom. To strengthen a substantial market presence in Great Britain and international growth, Cancom took over the British UCC and managed services provider Ocean Intelligent Communications, which now operates under the name Cancom Collaboration and Communication, in the spring of 2018. In addition, Cancom acquired the parent company of the British IT solutions provider OCSL in August 2018 as a strategic base for the Cancom Group's activities in Great Britain.

On August 29, 2019, the Cancom share on the Deutsche Börse rose unexpectedly from the SDAX index to the MDAX , where it replaced the Axel Springer SE share .

Cancom has around 30 locations in Germany, Austria, Great Britain and the USA and employs around 3,400 people. According to the company, around half of the Group's sales are generated in the IT Solutions division, the rest in the e-commerce / trade division.

Products

Cancom covers the IT requirements of commercial customers. According to the company's own information, the product range includes around 50,000 items that are sold through catalogs, in the online shop or in the system house branches. In addition to products, Cancom also offers IT services.
