history

The Estadio Municipal de Chapín was built in 1988, with 20,500 seats at the time, as a multi-purpose stadium. It opened on August 24, 1988 with a friendly game between home club Deportivo Xerez and Real Madrid . The competition site can be used for various sporting events and concerts. The stadium was opened in 2002 as part of the 2002 World Equestrian Games . renovated and expanded. Since then it has held 22,000 spectators.
