The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is an organization subordinate to NATO as a communications and information agency with headquarters in Brussels (Belgium) and parts of the Cyber ​​Defense Center in Mons and The Hague (Netherlands).

The NCI agency was founded on July 1, 2012 as part of a reform as the successor to the merger of the previous NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A), the NATO ACCS Management Agency (NACMA), the NATO Communications and Information Systems Services Agency (NCSA) , the office for the Active Layered Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (ALTBMD) program and parts of the Information Communications and Technology Management (ICTM) staff at NATO headquarters.

On July 26, 2016 and most recently on March 27, 2017, the NCI Agency announced a NATO investment program for new acquisitions and modernization projects for networked data systems and services and for the area of ​​air and missile defense with industry in around 40 contracts by 2019 with a total value of around three billion euros. To this end, the 6th NITEC (NCI Agency Industry Conference) conference took place in April 2017 together with the US Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) in Ottawa . On May 23, 2017, the construction of the NCI Academy was officially announced in Oeiras , Portugal . Its aim is to offer civilian and military NATO employees specialist training in the alliance's advanced IT and cyber systems. The academy will not be fully operational until 2019. The Allied Joint Force Command Lisbon was located in Oeiras until 2012 . The NCI Academy will also take over the tasks of the NATO CIS School Latina, which will then be closed.

The NCI agency bundles forces from NATO and the member states involved and is responsible for cyber security and NATO’s C⁴ISR (Command, Control, Communications and Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) including cyber and missile defense. The agency maintains around 32 locations in Europe for this purpose. In Germany there are so-called NCI Agency CIS Support Units in Bad Bergzabern , Euskirchen , in the Combined Air Operations Center in Uedem and on the US Ramstein Air Base .
