Ralf Sommer (electrical engineer)

Ralf Sommer (born October 17, 1961 in Reinbek ) is a German electrical engineer . He is professor for circuit technology and network theory at the Technical University of Ilmenau .

biography

Sommer completed a degree in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig and received his doctorate in 1993 from the Institute for Network Theory and Circuit Technology there on the subject of "Concepts and procedures for the computer-aided design of analog circuits". He then worked at the Center for Microelectronics at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (ZMK) and built up the “Computer-Aided Design of Analog Circuits” group, in which the symbolic analysis tool “Analog Insydes” was developed. In 2000, Sommer took over the group management “Analog Simulation” at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich. In addition to his professorship, he is the Scientific Director of the Institute for Microelectronic and Mechatronic Systems non-profit GmbH (IMMS).
