Ralph Broome
Ralph Broome (born July 5, 1889 , Dalhousie , Himachal Pradesh , India , † January 25, 1985 in Poole , England ) was a British bobsledder .
Broome was born at the foot of the Himalayas to a British military officer. During the First World War he served in the Tank Corps of the British Army and was promoted to major .
Together with Thomas Arnold , Alexander Richardson and Rodney Soher , Broome won the silver medal in the four-man bobsleigh at the 1st Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix in 1924 . This made him the first ever Asian- born medalist at Winter Games.
