Ralph Edwards
Ralph Livingstone Edwards (born June 23, 1913 near Merino , Colorado , † November 16, 2005 in Los Angeles ) was an American radio and television presenter .
Life
In the 1930s, Edwards hosted the trivia show Truth or consequences . This radio show was so successful that in 1950 a city even renamed itself " Truth or Consequences ". Well-known television shows by Edwards were This Is Your Life and the court program The people's court . In 1937 he had a guest appearance in the musical film Manhattan Merry-Go-Round .
By 1999, Edwards was represented on television with various shows, making it one of the longest careers on television. In 1995 he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame . In addition, Edwards was the winner of several Emmys .
Ralph Edwards died on 16 November 2005 at his home in West Hollywood to heart failure .
