The Ramal de Teresópolis siding is a railway line in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. It connected the place Magé with the place Teresópolis in the mountains.

history

The route was completed in 1908 and connected the port of Piedade, located in the rear Guanabara Bay, with the mountain town of Teresópolis . The rail line had a length of 33.4 km with a track width of 1.676 m. This line was later extended to José Augusto Vieira.

From 1940, the section between Porto da Piedade and Magé was no longer used for this line because the trains went directly to Teresópolis from Rio de Janeiro via Magé .

In 1956 the stretch between Guapimirim and Teresópolis was closed. The route to Guapimirim is now served by SuperVia suburban trains.
