Ramon Clay

Ramon Clay (born June 29, 1975 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is a retired American sprinter .

In 1994 he won silver at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Lisbon over 400 m . In 1998 he became US indoor champion over 200 m .

In 2010, the athlete, who was coached by trainer Trevor Graham, who was involved in the BALCO affair , was banned for two years from 2000 to 2004 because of the possession and use of doping substances . All his results since January 1, 2000 have been nullified. These included his participation in the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, where he reached the quarter-finals over 200 m, a fourth place over 200 m at the 2002 World Athletics Cup in Madrid and his US championship title over this distance from the same year.

Ramon Clay is married to the sprinter Julian Clay .
