Ramses II is a German music group that was founded in December 1972 in the Vahrenwald leisure center in Hanover . The group is representative of the Krautrock genre with long-lasting, synthesizer- dominated pieces.

history

The band was founded by Hans-Jürgen Lammers ( drums ), Peter Klages ( guitar ), Bernd Probst ( keyboards ), Hans-Dieter Klinkhammer ( bass ) and Herbert Natho ( vocals ). The name of the group Ramses II goes back to a suggestion by Peter Klages. However, the group ended up being called Ramses and not Ramses II. In the years after its founding, the group was subject to constant membership changes until, after a good two years, the formation was found that helped it to be successful for five years. Until 1983 the Ramses II was more active on stage than in the studio, which is why she only released five albums, the first two of which also helped her to international success. After the album Control Me from 2000, it was initially quiet around the group.

Ramses has been live again since 2002. In November 2014 Ramses released their last album to date, Firewall .
