The hamlet of Ranham with around 40 inhabitants is part of Palling in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein . The place is two kilometers northeast of the municipality capital on the road to Tyrlaching . Ranham has a special feature that is not typical of the hamlet: there are three listed chapels in the village.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1382 as Reinhaim (which means "home on a slope"). Further mentions were made in 1443 (Ränhaim) and 1832 (Ranheim). Ranham was an eponymous chairperson (with Allerding, Baumham, Genetsham, Grafetstetten, Hörmetsham, Kamping and the town itself) in the Palling Office (Tittmoning District Court) until the community was formed in 1818.
