Rank Xerox House

The Rank-Xerox-Haus is located at Emanuel-Leutze-Straße 20 in the Düsseldorf district of Lörick . Stylistically it is assigned to concrete brutalism , defining elements are the reinforced concrete construction and the facade structure with circumferential escape balconies with exposed concrete parapets and steel ribbon windows.

The floor plan and structure are remarkable: a hexagonal structure, in which there are stairs, elevators, sanitary rooms and technical systems, forms the central and fixed point. Three more hexagonal structures are grouped around this. These are each offset by a third of the normal floor height. In these hexagons, the storeys are offset from one another and are connected by stairs. Between the hexagonal building in the center and the surrounding other hexagonal structures are trapezoidal rooms, which are used as break and individual rooms. The building was built by Helmut Hentrich , Petschnigg & Partner from 1966 to 1971 and was awarded the plaque of the Association of German Architects in 1972.

The Rank-Xerox-Haus has been a listed building since 1994 .
