The Rantenhorst is a forest area south of Calvörde .

Location and assignment

The Rantenhorst lies in the district of Calvörde. The forest area is part of the Calvörder forest . In the north lies the market town of Calvörde, in the east lies Zobbenitz , in the south lies Uthmöden and in the west lies Schierholz , which is also part of the Calvörde forest.

Naming

The forest area owes its name to a desert called Ranten .

The Rantenhorst is also part of the Klüdener Pax-Wanneweh nature reserve .
