List of members of the Tyrolean Parliament (VII legislative period)
This list of members of the Tyrolean state parliament (VII. Legislative period) lists all the members of the Tyrolean state parliament in the seventh legislative period from October 20, 1970 to July 1, 1975. After the state elections in 1970 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) had 23 members, although it lost two seats compared to the state elections in 1965 . Furthermore, the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was represented in the state parliament with twelve members, who were able to win two seats in the election. In addition, as in the previous period, a member of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) belonged to the state parliament.
After the deputies were sworn in on October 20, 1970, the members of the state parliament elected the members of the Wallnöfer III state government on the same day . The legislative period ended with the inauguration of the members of the eighth legislative period on July 1, 1975.
Functions
Landtag President
In the constituent session, the incumbent President of the Landtag, Alois Lugger (ÖVP), was re-elected with 33 out of 36 votes, with Adolf Troppmair having one vote and two ballot papers remaining blank. Christian Horngacher (SPÖ) became the new 1st Vice-President , with which the SPÖ was able to occupy this position for the first time in decades, after having previously only been entitled to the 2nd Vice-President. Horngacher received 31 of 36 votes, with five ballot papers remaining blank. Adolf Troppmair (ÖVP) was also newly elected to the office of 2nd Vice President, who only received 26 of 36 votes. The former 1st Vice President Weber Franz had received two other votes , eight ballot papers remained blank.
Club chairmen
The members of the ÖVP formed the “Landtag Club of the ÖVP” in the constituent session, with Eduard Wallnöfer taking over the function of club chairman and Alois Lugger and Robert Lackner being elected as his deputies. The SPÖ MPs formed the "Club of Socialist MPs" and elected Christian Horngacher as their club chairman and Ferdinand Oberfeldner as his deputy. Even Otto Wendling alone formed the "Club of the Freedom Party", where he took over as the only Member of this club the function of the club chairman.
