Fritz Prior

Fritz Prior (* 1921 in Wilten / Innsbruck ; † August 29, 1996 ) was an Austrian politician and civil servant .

Life

Fritz Prior studied technical chemistry from 1939 . In 1947 he received his doctorate from the University of Innsbruck with a significant basic work on gas chromatography under Erika Cremer . He was a teacher at the Episcopal Gymnasium Paulinum in Schwaz and at the HTL Anichstraße in Innsbruck.

In 1965 Fritz Prior was appointed by the Tyrolean state parliament as regional councilor for culture and education as well as provincial governor deputy in the Tyrolean provincial government and worked there until 1989. He was the executive president of the provincial school council in Tyrol from 1966 to 1994. He developed the concept of the “Tiroler Landhauptschule ".

In 1971 he was regional chairman of the Christian trade union group (FCG) in Tyrol and from 1976 to 1988 regional chairman of the AAB in Tyrol ( Austrian workers' union ), later honorary chairman and honorary ring holder of the AAB.

He was a member of the ÖVP . Fritz Prior was honored with numerous awards, including the Great Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria and as an officer in the Legion of Honor .
