List of members of the Tyrolean state parliament (XIVth legislative period)
This list of members of the Tyrolean state parliament (XIVth legislative period) lists all the members of the Tyrolean state parliament in the XIVth legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session on October 21, 2003 until the state parliament of the XV. Legislative period on July 1, 2008. After the state elections in Tyrol in 2003, 20 of the 36 seats went to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), which was able to regain the absolute majority of seats and to have two more members than in the previous period. The Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) was represented by nine members in the state parliament, whereby it was able to win an additional mandate in the state elections in 2003. The Grünen Tirol (GRÜNE) were able to increase their mandates by two to five, while the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) lost five of their seven seats to date.
The first session of the Tyrolean state parliament was the inauguration of the state parliament members, followed by the appointment of the members of the Tyrolean state government. The government members of the state government van Staa II renounced their state parliament mandates and were only members of the Tyrolean state parliament for a short time during the session. The last session of the XIV legislative period took place on March 20, 2008. At this meeting, the state parliament was prematurely dissolved because the governing parties had decided to bring the state elections in Tyrol 2008 forward from autumn to spring.
Functions
Landtag President
In the constituent session, Helmut Mader, President of the State Parliament (ÖVP), who has been in office since 1994, was re-elected President of the State Parliament, receiving 35 of the 36 votes (with a “no” vote). The ÖVP nominated Anton Steixner , who has also been in office since 1994, for the office of 1st Vice President , while the Greens positioned Elisabeth Wiesmüller (GREEN) as the opposing candidate. Anton Steixner was subsequently elected with 30 of the 36 votes, while Wiesmüller received only five votes. One vote was invalid. The SPÖ supported the MP Franz Reiter for election as 2nd Vice President, with the Greens again setting up Wiesmüller as an opposing candidate. Reiter received 28 votes in the election, Wiesmüller seven votes, whereby one ballot was invalid. Reiter was thus newly elected to the office of 2nd Vice President, which Ernst Pechlaner (now club chairman ) had previously held.
Club stewards
After the deputies were sworn in, the members of the ÖVP formed the “Landtag Club of the Tyrolean People's Party”, with Klaus Madritsch re-elected as chairman of the club. The members of the SPÖ formed the "SPÖ-Landtag Club ", with Ernst Pechlaner taking over the function of club chairman. Within the “GRÜNEN Landtag Club ”, Georg Willi took over the office of club chairman again , and Maria Scheiber was elected as the club chairman's deputy as the only woman in this role . In the “FPÖ Landtag Club ”, Wilfried Tilg replaced the previous club chairman Johannes Lugger , while Erich Rappold was nominated as his deputy .
After Wilfried Tilg and Erich Rappold had been expelled from the FPÖ, they founded a new state parliament club on April 29, 2005 under the name “The Landtag Club of the Free”, which initially cooperated with the Alliance Future Austria (BZÖ).
