Theresia Schiffmann

Theresia Schiffmann (born March 5, 1958 in Weerberg ) is an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). From 2003 to 2008 she was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

education and profession

Theresia Schiffmann grew up in her parents' business in Weerberg and attended elementary school for eight years. After a year on the polytechnic course, she attended the HBLA Kematen for five years and then the vocational education academy in Ober-St. Veit (Vienna). Then she worked as a consultant in the Imst District Chamber of Commerce for three years until 1982 . After her wedding, she returned to Weerberg, where she and her husband run the “Grillhäuslhof” as an additional business. The company lives in particular from the dairy industry and the direct marketing of schnapps and liqueurs.

Politics and functions

Theresia Schiffmann is heavily involved in the farming associations and the Chamber of Agriculture. Between 1993 and 2006 she was a district farmer in Schwaz and has been a regional farmer in Tyrol since 2002. In 2007 she was elected as country women farmers by the ARGE Austrian women farmers. In addition, Schiffmann has been a councilor in the Tyrolean Chamber of Agriculture since 1996.

Politically, Schiffmann was a councilor in Weerberg between 1992 and 1998. She represented the ÖVP from October 21, 2003 to July 1, 2008 in the Tyrolean state parliament. In the XIV. Legislative period she was a member of the committees “Agriculture and Forestry, Transport and Environment”, “Federalism and European Integration” and the Financial Control Committee.
