Maria Gstaltmeyr (born February 15, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 2006 to 2008 she was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

education and profession

Maria Gstaltmeyr attended elementary and secondary school in Vienna between 1958 and 1966 and then graduated from the music and pedagogical secondary school in Vienna. In 1967 she left the grammar school and worked until 1973 as an employee for the tax chamber in Vienna and the Austrian youth movement. In addition, she continued her education in evening courses, completed a commercial school between 1968 and 1970 and a language stay in England in 1973/74. Upon her return, she took a job as an employee of a law firm or an insurance office. Between 1976 and 1979 she attended high school in Vienna, in 1985 she switched to Tyrolean Airways as a commercial clerk . She has been chairman of the works council for commercial and technical staff there since 1994 and attended the trade union school in Innsbruck from 1994 to 1996.

politics

Gstaltmeyr found his way into politics through the trade union and has been a member of the ÖGB-Frauen-Tirol-Landesexecutive since 1993. She joined the ÖAAB and has been the regional representative of the AAB Frauen since 1996. Between 1998 and 2003 she was the federal deputy federal representative of the AAB Frauen, since 2003 the federal deputy federal representative. Since 2000 she has also been on the board of the Tyrol Chamber of Labor .

Gstaltmeyr ran in the state elections in 2003 on the district election proposal of the Innsbruck-Stadt constituency , but initially received no mandate. After Jürgen Bodenseer's withdrawal , Gstalmeyr received her mandate. Gstaltmeyr was a member of the Tyrolean Parliament from January 1, 2006 and represented the ÖVP in the committees “Labor, Social Affairs and Health”, “Federalism and European Integration” and “Society, Education, Culture and Sport” from February 8, 2006. After the state elections in 2008, Gstaltmeyr resigned from the state parliament on July 1, as she was not given a safe list position.
