Arno Abler

Arno Abler (born April 18, 1962 in Wörgl ) is an Austrian politician of the ÖVP .

Life

From March 1992 to March 1994 he was a councilor for the ÖVP in Wörgl, from March 1994 to September 1997 he was a councilor for economics and finance. In September 1997, after the death of his predecessor Fritz Atzl, Arno Abler was elected mayor of the municipality of Wörgl by the local council . In the next ordinary election in March 1998, as well as in the 2004 election, he was confirmed in office. In March 2010 he handed over the office of Mayor of Wörgl to his successor Hedwig Wechner , to whom he had lost in a runoff election.

From May 2002 to May 2007 Arno Abler was district party leader of the ÖVP in the Kufstein district and its top candidate in the state elections in 2003. From September 2003 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament , where he was a member of the financial control committee and the committee for economics, tourism and technology. At the beginning of 2008 he announced that he would no longer run for the upcoming state elections. On July 1, 2008, Arno Abler resigned from the Tyrolean state parliament.

In the civil profession, Arno Abler has been an independent, certified and publicly appointed tax advisor and managing partner in his own chartered accountant since 1988 .

Arno Abler is married to Michaela and has a son with her.
