Toronto Raptors (2006-2008)

On June 30, 2006 he was replaced by a player swap by Charlie Villanueva and has since played with the Toronto Raptors . Together with the superstar of the Raptors, Chris Bosh , Ford should form the core of the team. Ford was not only able to convince with its outstanding speed on the field, but also with its willingness and ability to make the right decisions in game-changing situations. On December 20, 2006 he scored the decisive basket against the Los Angeles Clippers , on December 22, 2006 he hit almost all throws in overtime against the Portland Trail Blazers and on March 11, 2007 he scored almost all of his team's points in overtime in a game against the Seattle SuperSonics . Three days later he added 18 assists in a game against the New York Knicks . Ford ended the season with career highs of 14 points and 7.9 assists per game, leading the Raptors to their first playoff entry in five years. However, they had to admit defeat to the New Jersey Nets in the first round after just six games .

In the following NBA season 2007-2008 Ford focused on making less turnover, which was one of its major weaknesses so far.
