Jarrett Matthew Jack (born October 28, 1983 in Fort Washington , Maryland ) is an American basketball player who was active for most of his professional career in the NBA .

High school

Jack attended four different high schools during his school years, DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Maryland, Mt. Zion Christian Academy in North Carolina, and Worcester Academy in Massachusetts .

college

From 2002 he attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta . In his sophomore year, he led the team into the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship final with an average of 12.5 points and 5.1 assists per game . The following year, Jack was able to increase his stats, averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

NBA

After his junior year at Georgia Tech College, Jack signed up for the 2005 NBA Draft , where he was selected as the 22nd player by the Denver Nuggets . That same evening he was transferred to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Linas Kleiza and Ricky Sanchez .

On July 9, 2008, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers along with Josh McRoberts and Brandon Rush for Ike Diogu and Jerryd Bayless .

On July 13, 2009, Jack signed a four-year, $ 20 million contract with the Toronto Raptors .

After two years with the Raptors, he was transferred to the New Orleans Hornets . In his second year with the Hornets he was after Chris Paul's move to the Los Angeles Clippers , starter and put on career bests with 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. Nevertheless, the Hornets Jack traded to the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2012 . On February 22nd, Jack scored a double-double with 30 points and 10 assists, making him the first banker to do so since Magic Johnson 1996. With the Warriors he developed into one of the best bankers in the league and ended up in the NBA vote Sixth Man of the Year Award in third place.

On July 12, 2013, Jack signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers . In a player swap, he came to the Brooklyn Nets for the following NBA 2014/15 season . In the summer of 2016, he first moved to the Atlanta Hawks , but was released from his contract before the start of the season due to injury. Jack returned to New Orleans in February 2017, but was surrendered by the Pelicans due to an injury. On September 15, 2017, he signed a contract with the New York Knicks .
