Jerryd Andrew Bayless (born August 20, 1988 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American basketball player . He was selected in the 2008 NBA Draft in 11th place by the Indiana Pacers and immediately transferred to the Portland Trail Blazers . Prior to his NBA career, he played college basketball for the Wildcats at the University of Arizona for a year .
college
In his only season for the Arizona Wildcats, Bayless averaged 19.7 points, 2.7 rebounds , and 4.0 assists per game . After that year, he decided to sign up for the 2008 NBA draft .
Professional career
After the Indiana Pacers had selected Bayless in 11th place in the draft, he and Ike Diogu were immediately transferred to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jarrett Jack , Josh McRoberts and the rights to Brandon Rush .
In the 2008 NBA Summer League he achieved an average of 29.8 points, led his team to three wins and was voted the best player, the MVP of the tournament.
During the regular season of the NBA he was able to achieve up to and including March 30, 2009, with an operating time of 12.8 minutes, an average of 4.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists .
In October 2010 he was transferred to the New Orleans Hornets for a future first-round draft pic k . After his contract had expired, Bayless moved to the Toronto Raptors for two years and was able to establish himself there as a regular in the rotation. For the 2012/13 season he moved to the Memphis Grizzlies . In January 2014, he was given to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Courtney Lee .
In the summer of 2014, he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks . After two seasons with the Bucks, Bayless signed with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 13, 2016 .
