Eva-Maria Posch (born December 31, 1961 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Between 2003 and 2015 she was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament and was its first vice-president from 2006 to 2008. She has also been the directly elected mayor of Hall in Tirol since 2012 .

education and profession

Eva-Maria Posch attended elementary school between 1968 and 1972 and then completed the lower level at the Franziskanergymnasium Hall in Tirol . She then moved to the Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck , where she graduated in 1980. She then completed the Abitur graduate course at the Federal Commercial Academy Innsbruck , which she also completed in 1981 with the Matura. Posch completed her law studies at the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck with the academic degree Dr. iur. from. She has been working as a lawyer since 1991.

politics

Eva-Maria Posch was City Councilor of Hall in Tirol from 1998 to 2003. She was subsequently the deputy mayor of her home parish since 2003 and was elected city party leader in 2000. She has represented the ÖVP in the Tyrolean state parliament since October 21, 2003, and has been a member of the finance committee, immunity and incompatibility committee and financial control committee since 2003. On January 3, 2006, she was elected First Vice President of the Tyrolean State Parliament, but lost this position again after the state election in 2008. Since July 1, 2008, she has been a simple member of the Tyrolean state parliament and a member of the “Committee for Legal, Community and Building Matters” as well as the Finance Committee and the Finance Control Committee.

Posch describes the availability of a school and apprenticeship place for Tyrolean children and adolescents as well as ensuring old-age and care provision for the population as her political priorities. Other concerns are health care and infrastructure maintenance. Posch is the industry spokeswoman for the Tyrolean People's Party. On July 1, 2012, she was elected mayor of the city of Hall in Tirol in the second ballot with more than 59 percent of the votes . She thus succeeded Johannes Tratter , who had changed to the Tyrolean provincial government as regional finance councilor .

Eva-Maria Posch resigned her mandate as a member of the state parliament in January 2015 in order to devote herself entirely to the office of Mayor of Hall. In the last parish council period she set u. a. the following projects: the children's center Untere Lend, the school center in Hall, accessibility in the town hall and the Piagr sports field.
