Hans-Peter Bock (born January 26, 1957 in Fliess ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2003 to 2008 and from 2010 to 2013 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament. From 2008 to 2010 and from 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Federal Council . Since 1998 he has also been the mayor of Fliess.

Life

Hans-Peter Bock was born the son of a bricklayer in Fliess and has eleven siblings. He attended the primary school in Fließ until 1971 and then switched to the polytechnic course in Landeck . From 1972 he graduated from the HTL Innsbruck for civil engineering , where he graduated in 1977.

After graduating from high school, Bock began to work for the Goidinger company in Zams and between October 1978 and April 1979 did his military service in the Eugenkaserne in Innsbruck as a radio operator. Bock continued to work as a construction technician in Zams. Initially, Bock worked there as a structural engineer, from 1979 he was a structural engineer and from 1985 sales manager. Between 1992 and 2003 Bock was part of the management.

Bock has been involved in politics since 1978. In 1980 he ran for the first time for the local council and was elected to the council. He was a member of this until 1998. In 1998, Bock ran for the second time in direct mayor elections and was elected mayor with 65% of the vote.

Bock was elected district chairman of the SPÖ-Landeck in July 2003 and in 1998 is chairman of the Kaunergrat nature park with the nine municipalities of the Kauner and Pitztal valleys. He is also chairman of the Almagrargemeinschaft der Fliesser Gemeindealmen. On October 21, 2003 Bock was sworn in as a member of the Tyrolean state parliament and was the finance and regional planning spokesman for the SPÖ club. He was also a member of the Legal, Community and Building Affairs Committee and the Finance Committee.

On July 1, 2008, Hans-Peter Bock was elected to the Federal Council by the Tyrolean state parliament and left the state parliament. On 16./17. November 2010 he moved from the Federal Council back to the state parliament and took over the role of club chairman of the SPÖ. On May 24, 2013 he was re-elected to the Federal Council. After the state elections in Tyrol in 2018 , he left the Federal Council.
