Elisabeth Greiderer

Elisabeth Greiderer (born June 12, 1960 in Kufstein ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). She has been a member of the Austrian Federal Council since 2008 .

education and profession

Elisabeth Greiderer attended elementary school in Kufstein from 1966 to 1970 and then switched to the local federal high school, where she graduated in 1978. From 1978 to 1979 she completed the HTL mechanical engineering high school graduate course in Jenbach and Innsbruck and passed the hospitality license examination in 1979. In addition, between 1979 and 1981 she passed the driving school instructor test for various types of vehicles.

Greiderer worked between 1979 and 1986 in his parents' business (Hotel Andreas Hofer and Driving School Sappl) in Kufstein as a hotel secretary and accountant. She was also a driving school secretary and driving school teacher. From 1986 to 1988 she was on maternity leave and has been an independent driving school owner and manager since 1988 after taking over the Bergmeister driving school in Lienz .

politics

Elisabeth Greiderer joined the Wirtschaftsbund in 1988 and was involved in economic policy. In January 2003 she was elected district chairwoman of "Frau in der Wirtschaft - WB" and thereby became a member of the district executive committee. Since May 2003 she has also been the district chairwoman of the ARGE "Frau in der Wirtschaft" of the Chamber of Commerce and since 2005 she has been a specialist representative in the Association of Motor Driving Schools in the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce.

Greiderer has been a member of the Lienz municipal council since April 2004, and in June 2005 she also took over the leadership of the city group of the VP women's organization from Helga Machne . In October 2007 she was elected district chairman of the Tyrolean women. Elisabeth Mattersberger succeeded her in this position in October 2018 .

In the run-up to the state elections in 2003, Greiderer was nominated for the state elections by the Wirtschaftsbund . She received a place on the Lienz district nomination and entered the state parliament on October 21, 2003. She was a member of the labor, social and health committees as well as federalism and European integration.

Greiderer has been a member of the Austrian Federal Council since July 1, 2008 .

Private

Elisabeth Greiderer was born as the first of five children to the Sappl family. In 1983 she married her husband and took the family name Greiderer. In 1986 their daughter was born. Greiderer moved to Lienz with her family in 1991.
