There was a scandal at the beginning of June 2020 when Geisler interrupted the water protection spokeswoman of WWF Austria during a handover of 22,800 signatures against the Tumpen-Habichen hydropower plant in the Ötztal and described her as a “disgusting bitch” in front of the camera. After widespread criticism of his disparaging remarks to the conservationist, Geisler initially published an apology, but in doing so misrepresented the incident in some cases and tried to play down his statements.
