Raphael Edery

Raphael Edery ( Hebrew רפאל אדרי, Born September 10, 1937 in Casablanca ) is a former Israeli politician . From 1988 to 1990 he was minister without portfolio, in 1990 he was minister for environmental protection.

biography

Edery immigrated to Israel in 1956 and worked for the Avoda and was the council chairman of Chatzor HaGlilit , a place near Safed and Rosh Pina in northern Israel. He was on the Board of Directors of Solel Boneh ( Hebrew סולל בונה, Lit. Paving and Building ) and General Manager of Housing & Construction Holding Company Limited ( Hebrew שיכון ובינוי) As well as the chairman of the World Assembly of Maghreb Jews in Israel. In 1981 he was a member of the Knesset from HaMa'arach . He was re-elected in 1984 and chaired the HaMa'arach parliamentary group and the all-party government coalition . He was re-elected in 1988 and was appointed minister with no portfolio in the 1988 all-party government coalition. In 1990 he was Minister for Environmental Protection . He left the cabinet in 1990 when HaMa'arach left the coalition. Edery was re-elected in 1992 and became deputy spokesman for the Knesset. In 1999 he lost his mandate.
