Rappin '4-Tay

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rappin '4-Tay (actually Anthony Forté ; born March 2, 1968 in San Francisco ) is an American rapper from San Francisco.

biography

When Rappin '4-Tay was graduating from high school , he made his first official rapper appearance on the song Don't Fight the Feelin' from Too $ hort's album Life Is ... Too $ hort . Before he could continue his career, however, he was jailed for 10 months for selling marijuana . After he was released, he founded the record label Rag Top Records with his friends Franky J and Fly in 1991 , so that he could release his debut album Rappin '4-Tay Is Back .

According to John Bush of the All Music Guide , his second album - named like his first commercially distributed recording - was particularly well received locally thanks to his hardcore style, which did not romanticize the living conditions in the ghetto . Despite the successful singles Playaz Club and I'll Be Around , the album could not achieve good chart positions nationwide. He succeeded in doing this in 1996 with his third album Off Parole . The following albums could not build on it, although he had a guest appearance on Tupac Shakur's major album All Eyez on Me on the song Only God Can Judge Me .
