Rasa Melnikienė

Rasa Melnikienė (born April 17, 1962 in Žasliai , Kaišiadorys Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian economist, former politician , Vice Minister for Social Protection and Labor.

Life

After graduating from the 5th Middle School in Marijampolė , Melnikienė graduated from 1980 to 1985 with a degree in economics from Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . From 1985 to 1990 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Planning of National Economy and Economics, from 1992 to 1993 in the Department for Transformation of Property Relations at the Institute for Economics and Privatization . From 1993 she was a doctoral candidate at the Vilniaus Gedimino technikos universitetas . From 1996 to 2000 Melnikienė was a member of the Seimas , and from 2001 she was Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Lithuania . From 2000 he taught at the Lietuvos teisės universitetas , then at the Vilniaus Gedimino technikos universitetas and at the Institute for Social Communication of the Vilniaus pedagoginis universitetas . In 2000 she did her doctorate on the social and economic aspects of housing provision in Lithuania (on the subject of Apsirūpinimas būstu Lietuvoje: socialinis-ekonominis aspektas ) at the VGTU . From 2003 she was deputy director of the department at the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania , from 2006 director of the Lietuvos agrarinės ekonomikos institutas economic institute .

From 1994 Melnikienė was a member of Lietuvos centro sąjunga .

Melnikienė is married. With her husband Vidmantas she has the son Giedrius.
