Rasoul Khatibi

Rasoul Khatibi (born September 22, 1978 in Tabriz ; Persian رسول خطیبی) is an Iranian soccer player . He plays in the Iranian national soccer team and as a striker for Sepahan Isfahan .

He started his career with Terkator Sazi. After good performances he was signed by Pas Tehran . In 1999 and 2000 he played with Mehdi Mahdavikia and Wahid Haschemian at Hamburger SV . In contrast to his compatriots, however, he was unable to assert himself and was only used in a few Bundesliga games. So he soon returned to Iran and played for Esteghlal Tehran . He later moved to Sepahan Isfahan and became Iranian champion in 2003.

For the national team Khatibi played for the first time on February 15, 1999. Due to frequent form fluctuations, he was not used regularly until 2005. So far he has played 12 international matches and scored one goal (as of June 1, 2006). He was in the squad for the 2006 World Cup .
