Rasputina is a band from New York ( Brooklyn ) that was formed in 1992 . The style of music that the band produces is still discussed today, as the music cannot be clearly assigned to a genre.
The band consists of a trio these days. What remains of the founding members Melora Creager, Julie Kent and Agnieszka Rybska is Melora Creager who, before the band was founded, placed an ad saying that she was looking for members for a cello band. Julia Kent then answered what the meeting of the two musicians meant.
Creager writes all the lyrics for Rasputina, sings most of the songs and also designed the covers of some publications.
