Council of Traditional Leaders

The Council of Traditional leaders ( English Council of Traditional Leaders ) is the advisory body of the traditional authorities in Namibia . Above all, the council has the right to advise the presidents on issues relating to communal farmland .

The council is composed of up to two members from each traditional administration, including at least the respective traditional leader . Members are appointed on the proposal of the Minister for Urban and Rural Development . A legislative term lasts five years. A chairman and his deputy are elected at the first meeting.

The chairman is (as of August 2019) Immanuel ǂNu-axa ǃGâseb of the ǂOe .gan .
