Ratangarh is a village in Datia District , Madhya Pradesh State , India . The place is located directly in Tehsil Savedha on the Sindh River .

The village is about 60 km from the provincial town of Datia and 175 km south of the Madikheda Dam in the Shivpuri district .

history

Ratangarh is known for its two Hindu temples Ratangarh Mata and Mandula Devi. The Ratangarh Mata Temple is one of the most famous excursion destinations for followers of the Hindu Durga faith in Datia Province. The Hindu festival Dussehra , which lasts several days, takes place in the Mandula Devi Temple every year in October .

Mass panic of October 13, 2013

On the morning of October 13, 2013, at the end of the religious festival Dussehra , which lasted several days, at least 60 people died in front of the Mandula Devi Temple . 500,000 people had gathered at the festival in the past few days.
