The historic town hall Doberlug-Kirchhain is a listed building in the small town of Doberlug-Kirchhain in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg . Here you can find it at the address “Am Markt 8”. It is recorded in the local monument register under registration number 09135082.

Building description and history

The building was originally the town hall of the town of Kirchhain, which was combined with Doberlug in 1950 to form today's town of Doberlug-Kirchhain. It is a two-story building with a gable roof and volute gables . The creation is dated to the years 1680 to 1682. The old town hall of the town of Kirchhain, which received town charter between 1434 and 1457, had previously fallen victim to a fire.

In 1905 extensive renovation work took place according to plans by the architect Karl Weber, which gave it the late Renaissance forms that can be seen today .
