The Rathenower Stremme is a tributary of the Havel River in the west of Brandenburg . It begins in the urban area of Rathenow and joins the main arm north of the town of Göttlin after about 4.5 kilometers. The Rathenower Stremme and the main arm form the islands of Bauernwiese and Stremmewiese . It is located in the nature reserve Untere Havel Nord . Year-round sailing is only permitted with muscle-powered watercraft. Mooring and casting off and entering the bank areas is only permitted outside the nature reserve.

description

As the former Reichswasserstraße , Rathenower Stremme did not become a federal waterway , as it was administered by the water management authorities of the GDR on October 1, 1989 and was not taken over by the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration until December 25, 1993 , which is why a return transfer is excluded.
