The Rauenburg , also called Ruwenberg or Rauwenburg , is a lost hilltop castle east of the Ettenheimmünster district of the city of Ettenheim in the Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was possibly on the 540.9 meters high Raubühl ( 48 ° 12 '27.6 "  N , 7 ° 56' 22.9"  O ) , which at the place Pflingstberg to the district Schweighausen the municipality Schuttertal belongs. The castle was mentioned in 1467 and 1481 in the feudal possession of the Lords of Geroldseck , in 1605 it is described as "located in the box vogtei Ettenheimmünster ". Nothing has been preserved from the castle complex, which cannot be precisely located.

Caution: In the case of written sources, there is a possibility of confusion with the Romburg (Rumberg, Romberg, Ronburg, Ruwenberg), which was also in the possession of the von Geroldseck family.
