Up Həbibov
Rauf Həbibov (born April 1, 1965 in Lənkəran ) is an Azerbaijani politician. He is currently the governor of Quba Rajon (as of March 2012).
Life
He graduated from engineering school in 1990 and then worked for several years in the construction industry and became the head of a small company. At Independent Balbelan , he served as the company's deputy director. On October 1, 2007, he was appointed head of the Guba region by a decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On March 1, 2012, thousands of people protested in front of his home in the city of Quba , demanding his resignation. Finally a fire was started. This was preceded by a statement by Həbibov in a televised address in which he accused the citizens of Quba of selling their houses to residents in other regions at low prices. Həbibov had apologized to the protesters for his statements.
