Raul Rojas (boxer)
Raul Rojas (born November 5, 1941 in San Pablo , California - † May 20, 2012 in Los Angeles , California) was an American boxer of Mexican descent.
Rojas was managed by Jackie McCoy and competed in featherweight . On March 28, 1968, Rojas boxed for the vacant WBA world title against the Colombian Enrique Higgins in a 15-round fight. Rojas was able to win this battle on points and thus win the world championship. However, he lost the title in his first title defense to the Japanese Shōzō Saijō also over 15 rounds on points.
In 1970 Rojas ended his career. He died in May 2012 at the age of 70.
