Shōzō Saijō
Shozo Saijo ( jap. 西城正三 , Saijō Shozo * 28. January 1947 in Saitama Prefecture , Japan ) is a former Japanese boxer in the featherweight . He was managed by Masaki Kanehira and Ben Adachi .

On August 13, 1964, he successfully made his professional debut. In 1968 he was the first to receive the athlete of the year award . In September of the same year, he took the WBA world title from Raúl Rojas by unanimously winning points . He defended this belt several times and lost it on September 2, 1971 to the Venezuelan Antonio Gómez by classic knockout in round 5. After this defeat, Saijō ended his career.
