Coordinates: 33 ° 35 ′ S , 120 ° 2 ′ E The Shire of Ravensthorpe is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 9,829 km² and has around 1750 inhabitants (2016).
Ravensthorpe is located on the state's southwest coast about 430 kilometers southeast of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the town of Ravensthorpe, where about 290 inhabitants live (2016).

The Ravensthorpe Council has seven members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the three wards (three from the Rural Ward and two each from Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe Ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
