Hans-Jörg Bliesener

Hans-Jörg Bliesener (born April 5, 1966 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a former German canoeist who won a bronze medal for the German Democratic Republic at the 1988 Summer Olympics .

Life

The 1983 European Junior Champion in a single kayak started for the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam . The competitions of friendship he won in 1984 in the four-man kayak , in the double kayak he reached with Jens Fiedler third. At the Canoe World Championships in Mechelen in 1985, he and Guido Behling took second place over 500 meters behind New Zealanders Ian Ferguson and Paul MacDonald . The following year, Bliesener won silver again at the World Championships in Montreal: In the four-person kayak, only the Hungarian boat crossed the finish line ahead of Guido Behling, Hans-Jörg Bliesener, Jens Fiedler and Thomas Vaske. At the Olympic canoe competitions in Seoul in 1988, Bliesener won the bronze medal behind the boats from Hungary and the Soviet Union together with Kay Bluhm , André Wohllebe and Andreas Stähle .

After completing his degree in economics, Bliesener started at the Karstadt department store group , where he managed various branches, for example in Gütersloh, Dresden and Bochum. In addition, Bliesener is active in the senior sector as a canoeist.
