Jens Fiedler (born July 16, 1965 in Eisenhüttenstadt ) is a former German canoeist who started for the GDR .
Fiedler's sporting career began in 1983 at the European Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he won the gold medal in the K-4 , among other things . Due to the boycott of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles by socialist countries, he successfully took part in the friendship competitions in Moscow for the GDR , for which he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold. At the 1986 Canoe World Championships in Montreal , he won gold over 500 m and silver over 1000 m in a four-person kayak . For these successes he was honored with the Star of Friendship of Nations in silver. He started for the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam .
Fiedler is the father of 2 children.
