Raymond Bussières (born November 3, 1907 in Ivry-la-Bataille , † April 29, 1982 in Paris ) was a French actor .

Life

Bussières remained true to his learned profession as a topographic draftsman for a few years, during which he also appeared as an actor, first on the stage and from 1933 also in the cinema. Bussières gained great popularity in films of various genres even without leading roles. He gained his first experience on the cabaret stage; at the beginning of the 1940s he became a fixture among the character actors in his home country, occasionally also in international film; at the same time he was often a simple man, worker or Parisian petty bourgeois, less fortunate than himself. By his death in 1982, his filmography comprised over 160 titles. Occasionally Bussières also wrote scripts; he was active as a producer twice.
