Raymond Leplat , actually Baron Raymond LePlat , also Raymond Le Plat or Baron Raymond de Leplat (* around 1664; † before May 5, 1742 in Dresden ) was a French Huguenot , Saxon court official, interior designer ( Ordonneur du Cabinet ) and museum inspector and art collector .

Raymond Leplat was appointed General Inspector of the Royal Saxon Collections in Dresden in 1698 .

From 1718 to 1720, Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann and Raymond Leplat carried out expansion and furnishing work at the Taschenbergpalais as the seat of the Crown Prince family at the instigation of Augustus the Strong .

In 1722 he carried out a general inventory of all pictures in the electoral art chamber as well as pictures scattered across castles and churches. At the same time, Leplat was commissioned to outsource several collections from the overcrowded Kunstkammer; u. a. a collection of precious objects, which August the Strong had set up as a display collection until 1723 ( Green Vault ).

From 1723 to 1736 the court architect Pöppelmann directed the renovation of Moritzburg Castle , whereby Raymond Leplat was responsible for the overall planning of the interior design.

In 1742 Leplat carried out a revision of the general inventory of all 4700 paintings. Also in 1742 he was raised to the imperial nobility.
